Orla Finnegan spent over a decade working across broadcast and print newsrooms before founding wegamiu in 2018. Her background is in political and investigative journalism, where the interview — not the story — was always the real unit of work.
She started this publication because most writing about interviewing treats it as a soft skill. She disagrees. Getting a subject to say something true, specific, and on the record is one of the harder craft problems in journalism.
